What it is
The Adams Rite 4900 uses a reversible solid-brass latchbolt and fits the same-backset preparation used by an MS1850S deadlock. This configuration is supplied less strike so the jamb condition can be matched separately.

- Restore positive latching or convert a compatible narrow-stile storefront opening from a deadlock to controlled daytime traffic
- Fit check
- Confirm the 1-1/8-inch backset, door thickness, faceplate shape, existing preparation, cylinder cam, strike geometry, handing, and fire-rating requirements. The strike, cylinder, paddle, or lever is separate.
- Technician note
- Do not treat latch, strike, closer, and door alignment as independent. Verify that the door reaches the strike without lift, drag, or excessive closer force before selecting replacement hardware.
